World Autism Awareness Day is an opportunity to celebrate the strengths and differences of those with autism. Internationally recognised and sanctioned by the United Nations, it is now in its 17th year of awareness raising.

Used also to mark the beginning of World Autism Acceptance Week, it represents an opportunity to promote understanding and acceptance of autistic people throughout society.
