About us

Who We Are

Bradford Hate Crime Alliance (BHCA) is a registered charity with over 30 years of experience combating hate crime across Bradford and its district. As a trusted partner of Bradford Council and West Yorkshire Police, we develop and deliver anti-hate strategies, third-party reporting pathways, and victim support services that genuinely make a difference.

We believe every person has the right to live, work and move freely through their community without fear. Our work brings communities together, champions inclusivity, and ensures that every voice, particularly those most marginalised, is heard and acted upon.

"This is far more than a coordination role. You will be at the very heart of BHCA's work, directly supporting people who have experienced hate crime and making a real and visible difference every single day."
The role

A Role With Real Purpose

This is a central and highly visible role within BHCA. You will coordinate hate crime reporting services, provide direct support and advocacy to victims, and act as a trusted liaison between communities, statutory partners, and BHCA's network of reporting centres. You will work closely with Bradford Council, West Yorkshire Police, Victim Support, Restorative Justice and the voluntary sector.

The postholder is responsible to the BHCA Director and ultimately accountable to the BHCA Management Board. You will also supervise any volunteers or students on placement.

Reporting Centre Management Manage the annual audit process for all Hate Crime Reporting Centres, maintain an accurate register and provide detailed performance feedback to the BHCA Director.
Victim Support and Advocacy Provide high-quality, person-centred advocacy to victims, working closely with West Yorkshire Police Hate Crime Officers and connecting victims to appropriate long-term support and legal advice.
Partnership and Community Engagement Build and maintain relationships with community groups, faith leaders, statutory partners and local businesses to foster trust and encourage hate crime reporting.
Education, Awareness and Digital Strategy Design and lead training and workshops for schools, colleges and community organisations. Develop and execute a digital communications strategy including the BHCA website and social media.
Governance and Administration Prepare monthly progress reports for the BHCA Management Board and external commissioning bodies. Manage project administration, petty cash records and the safe-keeping of BHCA assets.
Flexible and Innovative Working Be available to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet community needs, and actively identify new ideas and approaches to improve service efficiency and community safety.
