We are sharing some tips and support for the Spanish Police in how to tackle hate crime. Our approach is really making a difference here in the city, so it’s good to know that other cities in Europe can benefit from our expertise.

Our chair and director of Bradford hate crime alliance, Marin Baines, has recently attended an event in Madrid, Spain. This came about after a visit to Bradford by the police of Madrid and surrounding areas, who wanted to find out more about our good practice around hate crime reporting.

Both police and academics attended our city, with a view to learning and developing hate crime reporting and management approaches that could be replicated in Spain. The event in Madrid, was the culmination of the project and presentation of the final report along with core outputs and outcomes of the project.  This initiative was a European project funded through the European Parliament.
